Meet the Team

Mark Cartwright - Director

Mark founded MLC Technologies in 2019 and has led the company for over five years, successfully growing it into a trusted engineering partner operating across the defence, commercial, superyacht, and high-performance racing sectors. Under his leadership, MLC has delivered numerous first-of-a-kind marine projects, scaling capability while maintaining a strong focus on technical excellence, discretion, and collaboration.

Mark began his career in marine electronics in 2003, working internationally across inshore and offshore grand-prix racing boats and superyachts. He specialises in the design, implementation, and calibration of complex electrical and instrumentation systems, with a reputation for solving demanding technical problems in high-pressure environments.

He has contributed to three America’s Cup campaigns, including serving as Electronics and Instrumentation Team Lead for Land Rover BAR during the 35th America’s Cup, and later for INEOS Team UK during the 36th America’s Cup. These campaigns reinforced his approach to engineering: precise, resilient, and relentlessly focused on performance and continuous improvement.

MLC Technologies was established with the aim of creating a business that could tackle the most challenging marine engineering applications while working seamlessly alongside client teams. Mark remains deeply involved in both the technical and strategic direction of the company, always looking for ways to improve systems, processes, and outcomes — and to make a meaningful difference through the work delivered.

Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, sailing, and cycling.

Greg Saunders - Technical Operations Manager

Greg originally joined MLC Technologies Ltd in January 2022 and returned to the company in April 2024, taking up the role of Technical Operations Manager.

Coming from a previous career as the owner of a successful cycling business, Greg has a strong mechanical and engineering foundation, paired with a highly logical and practical approach to problem-solving. This background continues to underpin his work, enabling him to manage complex technical projects with clarity, efficiency, and sound judgement.

Since rejoining MLC Technologies, Greg has completed his domestic and commercial electrical qualifications, further strengthening his technical expertise and allowing him to take on greater responsibility across operations, compliance, and project delivery. He is particularly effective in prototype and development environments, where adaptability, structured thinking, and hands-on problem-solving are essential.

Based in Norfolk, Greg works primarily from MLC Technologies’ workshops, while also supporting projects both regionally and nationally as required. In his current role, he plays a key part in overseeing technical operations, supporting the wider engineering team, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard.

Outside of work, Greg enjoys rock climbing and mountain biking. He also owns a GP14 dinghy and continues to develop his sailing skills.

Jo Fenner - Office Manager

She maintains an overarching view of MLC’s operations, ensuring teams are well supported, projects are delivered efficiently, and processes run smoothly across the business.

Jo holds a BSc in Environmental Biology from the University of Nottingham. She previously worked in Procurement at Siemens Energy Services in Nottingham before taking a career break to raise her family. After relocating to Norfolk in 2013, Jo became an active member of her local community, raising funds for the local primary school, before moving into education administration.

Outside of work, Jo is a busy beekeeper and enjoys playing board games with her family.
